Many of my ideas came from a simple notation of “what if?”: yesterday while taking some photos of some of my latest my paper cut,I noticed one was done on black paper, another one was in while. All of sudden, I thought it would be.interesting to combined them together like ying and yang, black and white.
the poppy is on black paper with a border( frame) and I position the butterfly (in white paper) slightly off the frame to suggest the butterfly was attracted by the poppies in the picture.
The poppy paper cut is about 8’x10″ on Canson drawing paper, the butterfly paper cut is about 4″x6″ on Fabriano watercolor paper.
This is lovely. Really strong lines. Great contrast.
Thank you!
